how much of a commitment do you think they make to him Bill?

would they package him as part of a bigger deal?

I think it will be a two-year or three-year deal in the $3M neighborhood. I also think folks will complain about it as soon as the terms go public (not from the Flyers, as they never release that info).

I won't complain as Gudas brings an element that this d currently lacks until or when or if Morin can play that style.

If it's around what bill said, I'd be ecstatic. I thought he looked like a completely different player in the 2nd half of the season.

1.4/yr would be my guess, tops. Less would be great.

Happy Birthday Radko.

A great present, your own Bill Meltzer blog and hopefully a new deal with the Flyers!

My guess is 3 years 8M. And he's earned it.
Locking him up for his prime years age 26-29 would be a smart move.
Right handed and a physical presence, both are needed here.

Love to see them get this done relatively soon and then move on and get Schenn signed.

Gudas is a force and whoever cant see that shouldn't be commenting ! He's given the Flyers something on D, FEAR from opponents and an open ice hitter, that they haven't had in YEARS, And no Luke Schenn didn't supply it.

I don't care that he plays on the edge, I'd rather have that then having opponents skate wherever they want with no fear of getting laid out.

I don't see Gudas as a force or putting fear into opposing players but I'm gonna comment anyway. He does however add a necessary element to the back end. He plays physical and he's one of the more scrappy players on the team and I'm glad he's here.

I felt his play improved dramatically after he was announced as on the World Cup team. Perhaps it just gave him a comfort level of confidence that he really belonged. But that seemed to be when he started being a more positive all-around contributor.

A slightly richer version of the Raffl deal for Gudas would be fine by me. They both earned it.

A certain subset of the fanbase will complain about every deal. Especially the morons on twitter.

3 year at 3 mil or under is right on par. I'd do 4 years for him if it helped the cap even more. He is solid

Looking at what similar players have signed for in the last year or so, when it comes to Gudas, I"m guessing 3 years, aav of 2.25 million.

Gudas needs to stay under 3 if they plan on riding out AMac's contract.
